Hair Exosome aftercare (3 Treatment): what to do the first 7 days
By Vital Health and Aesthetics | August 4, 2026
We keep Hair Exosome (3 Treatment) sessions smooth and comfortable, and aftercare is how you protect that work once you’re back home in Lansdowne. The single most important rule is simple: for the first 48 to 72 hours, keep the treated scalp clean, cool, and hands-off. That means no washing unless we told you otherwise, no heavy sweating, and no soaking in pools or hot tubs.
Quick checklist for today: Don’t wash the scalp for 24 to 48 hours, skip workouts for 48 to 72 hours, avoid sun and heat, and don’t schedule color or chemical services for 2 weeks.
First 24 to 48 hours: keep it dry, keep it cool
This window matters most for Hair Exosome aftercare because we want the scalp calm, not irritated. We generally recommend you do not wash or shampoo the treated area for the first 24 to 48 hours unless we’ve given you different instructions.
Do
- Sleep slightly elevated the first night if you tend to swell easily.
- Keep showers lukewarm and avoid letting hot water steam directly onto your scalp.
- If you’re out in Lansdowne summer humidity, plan low-sweat days. July heat makes it easy to overdo it without realizing.
Don’t
- Don’t exercise hard, do hot yoga, or sit in a sauna for 48 to 72 hours. Heavy perspiration is the big issue.
- Don’t swim, use a hot tub, or soak in chlorinated pools for at least 72 hours.
- Don’t rub, scratch, or “check” the area with your fingertips. Hands carry bacteria and friction triggers irritation.
If you commute via Route 7 or use the park-and-ride hubs, keep your plan simple: a calm first two days, then ease back in. If you scheduled around family life in Lansdowne Village, the goal is the same, protect the result without needing time off.
Days 3 to 7: washing, sun, brushing, and what still needs a pause
Once you’re past that first 48 hours, you can usually return to a more normal routine, but gently. If you’re going to wash, use lukewarm water and a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser. No aggressive scrubbing. Think fingertips placed on the scalp, light pressure, and a short rinse.
Sun and heat still matter in the first week. Try not to sit in direct sun for long stretches, and skip long outdoor workouts while the scalp is settling. If you need coverage, wear a loose hat that doesn’t rub or trap heat.
Two-week rule: Hold off on hair color, perms, relaxers, and other chemical services for 2 weeks. Chemical irritation is one of the easiest ways to sabotage hair exosome post care.
Also, be careful with tools and habits that create friction. Avoid aggressive brushing, tight ponytails, and scalp massage for 7 to 14 days. If you catch yourself mindlessly scratching at your hairline during a stressful workday, stop and reset. That one habit causes more irritation than people expect.
Products that keep Hair Exosome recovery calm (and what to skip)
You don’t need a shelf full of products after Hair Exosome (3 Treatment). You need the right types, used consistently and gently.
Stick with
- A gentle, sulfate-free shampoo once washing is allowed.
- A light conditioner on the lengths if needed, keeping it off the scalp at first.
- Clean pillowcases and a clean hat if you wear one outdoors.
Pause for now
- Harsh exfoliating scalp scrubs and strong “tingle” products.
- Heavy oils and pomades on the scalp in the first week if you’re prone to clogged follicles.
- Anything we didn’t clear with you if your scalp runs sensitive.
If you’re unsure about a product you already use, bring a photo or the ingredient list to your follow-up. We’ll give you a straight answer and keep your routine simple.
When to reach out to our Lansdowne team (normal vs not-normal)
Mild redness or tenderness can happen after scalp treatments, and it often settles quickly. What we don’t want is anything that suggests infection or a reaction that’s escalating instead of calming down.
Call us right away if you have: fever, severe pain, pus, or swelling that’s getting worse.
We’re known for being thorough and taking time to explain every step, and that doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. If something feels off, let us know. We’ll talk it through and get you the right next step.

And if you’re driving in from Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Potomac Falls, Hamilton, or Brambleton, keep our number handy the first week. Most questions are quick to answer, and a fast check-in can save you a lot of worry.
Your 3-treatment series: how results usually show up over time
Hair exosome results are rarely “overnight.” Most people notice changes gradually as the scalp calms down and the growth cycle progresses. In a 3-treatment series, we’re building momentum, not gambling on one appointment.
If you want help planning your calendar around summer heat in Lansdowne Village, we’re happy to. Morning or evening sessions can make it easier to avoid peak sweating for that first 48 to 72 hours, especially in July.
