Morpheus Face and Neck aftercare: day-by-day for 7 days
By Vital Health and Aesthetics | August 27, 2026
I’m big on comfort during Morpheus8. Patients regularly tell me I “went the extra mile with pain management, ” and that same careful approach matters even more once you’re home. Here’s the single rule I want you to follow first: for the next 72 hours, keep your skin clean and hydrated, avoid makeup for 24–48 hours, and skip heavy sweating. In Lansdowne’s humid summers and strong sun, that sweat and heat can make redness linger longer than it needs to.
Quick reality check: Mild redness and swelling are common after RF microneedling. What I don’t want you doing is rubbing, picking, or “scrubbing it clean.” Gentle wins this week.
First 24 to 48 hours: keep it clean, calm, and untouched
Right after Morpheus Face and Neck, your skin usually feels warm and tight, almost like a strong sunburn. That’s normal. In the first 24 hours, I want you focused on comfort and reducing irritation so your skin can settle.
Do this
- Wash with a gentle cleanser and cool to lukewarm water. Pat dry, don’t rub.
- Use a simple moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. Dryness can make you want to scratch, and that’s what I’m avoiding.
- Cold compresses can help with comfort. Keep it light and clean.
Avoid this
- Makeup for 24 to 48 hours. I know it’s tempting if you’re headed back to Lansdowne Village, but letting those tiny channels close first is worth it.
- Strenuous exercise and heavy sweating for 48 to 72 hours. This is a big one, especially in Lansdowne humidity.
- Touching, picking, or using cleansing brushes. If you see little “grid” marks, leave them alone.
Comfort tip I use in-office too: The calmer you keep the skin early on, the easier your week tends to feel. Patients often tell me the experience here is “far less painful” than past Morpheus8 sessions elsewhere, and aftercare is part of that.
Days 3 to 7: sweat, sun, and “strong skincare” are the usual culprits
By day 3, most people look more like “a little pink” instead of “freshly treated, ” but your skin is still in repair mode. This is where I see the most accidental setbacks. People feel better, then they do a hot workout, sit in direct sun, or bring back active products too fast.
For 48 to 72 hours total, keep skipping saunas, hot tubs, and heavy exercise. And for the full first week, I want you to keep your routine boring. Think gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. That’s it.
Strong sun in Lansdowne means stricter SPF rules
Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, and avoid direct sun for at least two weeks. Use a hat and shade when you’re out. Between Route 7 commutes and weekend outdoor plans, this is the part people forget, then wonder why redness hangs around.
My simple product plan after RF microneedling (and what to pause)
I’m not going to overload you with a 12-step routine. After Morpheus8 aftercare, simple is usually safer. If you’re also doing other skin rejuvenation services in a medical spa setting, like a chemical peel, dermal fillers, botox, or laser hair removal, tell me so I can time things appropriately. Stacking things too close together is where skin gets cranky.
Use: gentle cleanser, plain moisturizer, and broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
Pause for 7 days: retinoids/retinol, chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA), scrubs, and strong “active” serums that sting or tingle.
If you’re not sure if something counts as “too active, ” call or email and I’ll tell you straight. A quick check beats guessing.
If you’re planning more RF microneedling or you’re comparing options, I also have a helpful read on RF microneedling in Lansdowne Village that explains how these treatments work and why consistency matters.
When I want you to call me (and what’s usually normal)
Normal in the first few days often includes redness, mild swelling, tenderness, and a rough or sandpapery feel. The neck can sometimes look puffier than the face because the skin is thinner and fluid can sit there a bit longer.
“Dr. Baksh is wonderful. I’ve been seeing him on and off for several years now. He’s kind, understanding, goes above and beyond with bis care, and remembers every detail. His staff is also so sweet and flexible.”
